NISA Director, Hirshabelle top officials meet with traditional elders hailing from Hiiraan region

The Director of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mr. Abdilahi Mohamed Ali alias Sanbalooshe, flanked by the deputy president of Hirshabelle state, Yusuf Ahmed Hagar, on Friday held a meeting in Moqokori district with traditional elders hailing from Hiiraan region. The focus of the discussion during the meeting was to strengthen peace, maintain security and to expedite the ongoing anti-terrorism operations which are aimed at restoring stability in districts under Hirshabelle state.

NISA Director and Hirshabelle top officials have discussed with the elders to cooperate in maintaining peace, and ways to consolidate the working cooperation between the community and the Somali gov’t. Hirshabelle deputy president, Mr. Yusuf Ahmed Hagar alias Dabageed, has said that Hirshabelle state is committed to ensure the security and to commence the second phase of anti-terrorism operations which are aimed at flushing out the militant group of Al-shabab from the region. He reiterated that there is a plan in place which is to eliminate the terrorist groups in the region in order the local residents to live in peace and prosperity.

NISA Director Mr. Sanbalooshe, has revealed that NISA has worked out a comprehensive strategy which is aimed at maintaining the security in Hirshabelle districts and particularly that in Middle Shabelle region. He further went on to say that the operations will continue and there will be measures to expedite and to fully liberate the regions from the terrorist groups which cause horrific acts of atrocities against the Somali people. Traditional elders from Hiiraan region have promised that they stand by the efforts of the government of Somalia. They acknowledged that they remain ready to work with security agencies in order to ensure the stability and the development of Hirshabelle state.
