Ma’awisley defense forces from Hiiraan region have spoken with a loud voice requesting that they should be given a support in the fight with the militant group of Al-shabab. They are the only force that is engaged a direct fighting with Al-shabab. It appears that Al-shabab concentrated its powers on the border between Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan provinces. They want to enter the settlements under Adan Yabaal district in the East of Hiiraan province.
Isse Sanweyne who is an officer of Ma’awisley forces from Hiiraan region has called on the Somali populace to provide support in the war with Al-Shabab when it comes to Hiiraan residents while they are fighting with an enemy that is not leaving behind anyone.
He said: “I want to distinguish something. I tell the Somali people that were are fighting with an enemy that is killing the birth mothers, the children, destroying mosques and torching schools.”
He said: “Swear in God, the Somali populace, let’s capture these enemy that pose a threat to the Somali people. We have captured the enemy, capture with us. I will not say keep the enemy at bay but let’s keep the enemy at bay.”
He called on the clans inhabiting in Middle Shabelle, Galguduud and Mudug provinces to launch attacks on areas that Al-shabab vacated in the settlements in order the militant group to reduce the pressure they put on Hiiraan province.
He said: “Swear in God, attack areas in your settlement that Al-Shabab vacated or there are vulnerabilities. You should let the enemy suffer as we have made them feel the pain.”
He said: “Wherever you are, swear in God, we are fighting with an enemy, support us. The people of Hiiraan province who were the backbone and being neutral, an int’l enemy attacked us. Int’l enemy you know attacked us. The enemy is firing bullets on us from every direction. You are not unaware of it, provide support to us.”
The Ma’awisley officer commended the Somali National Army (SNA) that are operational in Hiiraan province putting their lives in the line, and the support of the Somali Military Command it provides to the local defense forces although called on the other Somali Armed Forces Command and the defense minister, Ahmed Ma’alin Fiqi not to underrate the role they play when it comes to the fight against Al-shabab and that a credit will not be given to the job that they have done.
The statement from Ma’awisley officer came after the defense minister, Ahmed Ma’alin Fiqi on Firday said that two senior Al-Shabab members were killed in an airstrike that took place in the border between Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan provinces while Ma’awisley defense forces ambushed a vehicle where Al-shabab leaders were onboard in Garas-Magan that lies in the border between Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan provinces.
Ma’awisley forces who were pursuing Al-shabab fighters that attacked on El-Hareeri settlement on Wednesday destroyed the vehicle on Thursday.
Among those senior Al-Shabab leaders killed were Abuu Anas and Mohamed Ahmed Herow.
The defense minister told that these senior Al-Shabab leaders and others were killed in an airstrike that was jointly carried out by NISA, Somali Military Command and world friends.
