Jubaland regional President, Ahmed Islam alias Ahmed Madobe, has warmly welcomed the call made by the Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in which he extended an invitation to his political rivals in order to come to peace terms with him.

Mr. Ahmed told that dialogue is a chance in order to discuss and find a lasting resolution to the current obstacles that the country is faced with.

He said that the such discussions will allow the country to resolve conflicts.

He emphasized that it is crucial to fight the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group of Al_Shabab.

He pointed out that Al-Shabab is the only obstacle to development in Somalia.

He urged politicians not to waste their time on their political differences but they should focus on how to defeat Al-Shabab.

Jubaland leader has become the first Federal Member State president to have reacted to the call made by the Somali president in which he delivered a speech addressed directly to the country’s political rivals.

On the other hand, Puntland information minister, Mahmud Aidid Dirir, once asked about his views on the president’s call for dialogue, he declined to give a response.

Puntland President, Saed Deni, said that Puntland welcomes to come to the negotiations table in order to have discussions on the political affairs of the country.
