Former Somalia leaders have endorsed President’s call for a dialogue

A press release issued by Somalia’s former President, Shariif Sheikh Ahmed, the former Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Khaire, and the lawmaker, Abdirahman Abdiashakur have endorsed the invitation that the Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has extended to the political rivals in the country.

They said that the move is a step taken in the right direction.

The leaders have called on the incumbent Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud that the dialogue he offered must be productive in order tangible results should come out of the talks.

They said that they are awaiting to get further information pertaining to the agenda, the timing and the participants who are crucial in attending the talks so that the talks should be productive.

The press statement went on to say that they welcome the consultative talks the president has extended an invitation to the opposition politicians.

They said in the statement that this is a step taken in the right track.

The leaders have also pointed out that the terrorist groups pose a real threat and the wind of political change in the world, there should be a comprise, in a bid to save the country.

It was last night when the Somali President extended an invitation to his political main rivals and people who have opposing views to come to the negotiation table.

He urged them to play a crucial role when it comes to the ongoing war with Al-Shabab, and the state-building based on federal system.

Jubaland president Ahmed Moadobe has welcomed the president’s move in which he invited to a dialogue to the opposition groups.
