Hirshabelle regional President, Ali Abdillahi Hussein alias Ali Guudlaawe on Monday urged the Somali National Army (SNA) and the local defense forces to expedite the fight against the militant group of Al-shabab. He told the army officers that anti-Al-Shabab offensives will be launched.

The President paid an inspection visit to the Somali troops who are stationed in the frontlines in Middle Shabelle Province where the troops are conducting operations against the militant group of Al-Shabab who are based in Adan Yabaal district.

The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by the local defense forces known as Ma’awsiley on Sunday crossed from the border in Hiiraan region and moved into Middle Shabelle province where they are currently stationed in the outskirts of Adan Yabaal district.

The Somali army backed by the local defense forces defeated the militant group of Al-Shabab that launched an attack on the outskirts of El-Hareeri settlement which is under Moqokori district in Hiiraan region.

Although Al-Shabab was defeated in El-Hareeri fighting, Somali military officers got the information that Al-shabab fighters are planning to launch another attack on the settlement which led the Somali troops to counter offensive against the militant group stationed in the outskirts of Adan Yabaal district.

Ali Guudlaawe met with military officers in Wargaadhi settlement which lies 70 km from Adale district. He praised the Somali troops and the populace that they wrote new history.

He said: “Hirshabelle local defense forces who are stationed in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle provinces and the Somali National Army (SNA), they have written a new history in Somalia. There is no such power that the allied troops have shown and it will be in the history of the militant group of Al-shabab.”

The President shared the military officers that anti-Al-Shabab operations will be launched. He said:” HIrshabelle will pass the time and it will write history which will eventually save Somalia.”
