Car bomb explodes in Mogadishu near a security checkpoint

A car bomb exploded in Mogadishu.

Reports indicated that several people were injured in the car blast.

No death has been confirmed by the regional police.

Witnesses confirmed that the vehicle passed via Dabka-junction before the soldiers sprayed with bullets and eventually went off near Sayidka check point which is a stone’s throw away from the parliament building.

The blast destroyed ten vehicles including six three wheeled bajaj parked along the road.

Paramedics with ambulances rushed to the scene to ferry the victims of the blast.

The Somali government remained tight lipped to speak about the blast.

No group has claimed the responsibility of carrying the blast.

Al Shabab, a militant group which is battling with Somalia’s government is known for carrying such attacks targeting government buildings and officials.
