Armed Assailants kill two civilians in a settlement that is nearby Adale district in Middle Shabelle province

Reports from Middle Shabelle province on Sunday say that armed assailants killed two civilians in Koogaar settlement which is under the administration of Adale town.

One of the civilians killed by the armed assailants was working for a telecommunication company while the other was working in a well in the settlement.

Eyewitnesses in the settlement have confirmed that the armed assailants who carried out the killing hail from Adale district and have escaped from the area after they have conducted the attack.

The two civilians who were killed in the outskirts of Adale town are named Fanah Ma’alin Habeb and Muhyadin Araale.

The motive of the attack remains unknown. Local residents have expressed their anxiety over the killing of the two civilians. They said that the incident may instigate inter-clan skirmishes.

The killing coincides with another incident where a driver driving Noah vehicle was killed in the outskirts of Adale district.

Reports say that the driver was shot dead by armed assailants hailing from Adale town.

Adale district authority as well as regional security forces have not so far issued a statement regarding the killing that took place in Koogaar settlement which is nearby Adale district in Middle Shabelle province.
