Somaliland’s health minister on Friday has now recorded it’s first death. A young man who was buried in Borama, Awdal’s provincial capital has died of Covid-19. The deceased is reported to be a local businessman who has no travel history according to new updates on Covid-19 released by the health ministry. According to the figures released today from the ministry of health, Covid-19 cases in the country has increased from 6 to 9 with the confirmation of three new cases. Somaliland said that it has acquired Covid-19 testing laboratory from WHO but the tests of suspected people to have Covid-19 are still sent to Nairobi to validate the tests. Somaliland said that three of the 9 cases so far recorded have fully recovered from the deadly pandemic as far as Covid-19 cases are concerned.
