The Central Command of Somalilandโs National Army has briefed todayโs intense fighting in Las Anod City between Somaliland armed forces and militias gathered in the city.
A press release from the National Army Central Command confirms that the National Army captured prisoners of War consisting of local militias, members of international extremist groups, and Puntlandโs PSF soldiers.
The statement released by the central command reads:
โThe National Army of the Republic of Somaliland, which is defending itself against attacks from terrorist groups, has captured prisoners of war who are among terrorists, the PSF of the Puntland Regional Government, and local militia people who have gone astray,โ says the press release.
โThe government of the Republic of Somaliland has released prisoners of war from the local people who were injured and they were handed over to their relatives. Somaliland National Army is marked by Courage and Loyalty,โ Says the statement from Somalilandโs National Army.
