Action Aaid together with local NGO called SAWDO eradicated Female genital mutilation “FGM “from some districts in Gabiley region. Action Aid organization in partnership with SAWDA tackled to eradicate FGM from Teysa, Ijaara and Biyo Macaan districts of Gabiley districts in Somaliland. After joint awareness by the two organizations for four years in collaboration with local communities caused to abstain this bad tradition of FGM which endangered girl’s health. The local residents told that they abolished FGM professionals from their districts and informed to the police about those who are involved in this bad task that is also against Islamic sharia.
