Somali Prime Minister, AU envoy discuss Security Cooperation

The Prime Minister of Somali Federal Gov’t, Hamze Abdi Barre on Tuesday received in his office the Interim Head of Special Representative of the African Union Commission Chairperson (SRCC), Kareem Adebayo.

The two sides discussed enhancing the cooperation between Somalia and the African Union while the (AU) plays a crucial role in the security and the stabilization of Somalia.

The Prime Minister of Somalia congratulated on Mr. Adebayo for his new appointment.

He emphasized how the Somali Federal Gov’t respects the close ties and the constant support that the African Union (AU) provides to the Somali Federal Gov’t in the areas of peace, security and the rebuilding of Somalia’s robust gov’t agencies.

On his side, Kareem Adebayo expressed deep thanks and appreciations to the Somali Prime Minister for his cordial reception that he was accorded to him.

He promised to strengthen the working cooperation between the African Union and the Somali gov’t agencies.

He also confirmed that the African Union is committed to standby the Somali Federal Gov’t in order to reach its goal which is to pacify and to develop the country.

The high level meeting is part of the ongoing efforts which focused on strengthening the strategic relationship between Somalia and the African Union while the country is at a critical juncture pertaining to the state-building and maintaining the national security of the country.
