In this week, it is expected that a new political organization dubbed Justice and Togetherness which is led by the incumbent Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will be announced in Mogadishu. The new political organization emerges from the Union for Peace and Development Party. It is seen as a way to broaden the political support which is aimed to unite the political friends of the incumbent Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the leaders of the Federal Member States. Reliable sources say that the announcement of the new political organization was postponed last week due to a row based on the power sharing and the division of the top positions of the new political organization. The Southwest State President, Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed Laftagaren had a fallout with the way the top positions were divided.
However, the political discussions that took place led the conflict to be resolved. Laftagareen was persuaded to become the deputy chairman of the new political organization. The new political organization dubbed Justice and Togetherness will be the first that members including the Somali President, the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Sheikh Adan Madobe, the speaker of the Upper House of Parliament, Abdi Hashi, the Somali Prime Minister, members of the Somali cabinet ministers, and some of the regional leaders from Galmudug, Hirshabelle and Southwest State will be part of the new political organization.
Reports say that the incumbent Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will be the flag bearer of the new political organization who will contest the upcoming presidential elections in Somalia although there is a dispute concerning the timetable and the elections process.
The objective of the new political organization is reported that the Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will launch his re-election bid for a third time running as Somali President for a five year term.
He signed political deal with Galmudug, Hirshabelle and Southwest State leaders. On the other hand, the opposition groups strongly opposed the new political organization. They have pointed out that the new political organization formed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is just the same as the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party.
