Ankara–Turkish defense minister, Yasar Guler, met with his Somalian counterpart, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur on Thursday.
The bilateral meeting between the two ministers held at the Turkish defense ministry.
During the meeting, the two sides held discussions focusing on consolidating the bilateral ties between the two countries in the areas of cooperation against terrorism, and the development of the security training that the Turkish gov’t provides to the Somali National Army.
The discussion centered on establishing close working cooperation which is aimed at providing a helping hand to the peace and stability in the long term.
The Somali defense minister expressed deep thanks to the republic of Turkey for the support that it provides to the Somali gov’t pertaining to the fight against terrorism, which is crucial in strengthening the stability and national security of Somalia.
