Mogadishu– Somalia’s Minister responsible for Ports and Marine Transport, Hon. Mohamud Adam Gesod, received the Turkish ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktas. During the meeting, the two officials discussed ways to cooperate the reconstruction and developments of Somalia’s ports. Ambassador Aktas said that Turkey is committed to assist Somalia in developing its ports, utilizing Turkey’s expertise and technologies in port management. The two sides agreed to strengthen their cooperation to enhance the country’s port infrastructure, including modernizing port equipment, training personnel and providing technical support in management and operations. The minister welcomed Turkey’s support to port development. He stressed that this assistance will be necessary for the recovery of the country’s economy.
