The Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Somali National Army (SNA), General Abdullahi Adan Hussein alias Irro yesterday attended the pass out of new recruits who will become part of Gorgor Commandos.
He attended the graduation ceremony of the 20th Battalion and the 17th Brigade of Gorgor Commandos who were taking trainings at Turkish military base known as Turksom which lies in the outskirts of Somali capital Mogadishu.
The new Gorgor Commandos are trained to combat the extremist groups and to respond to emergencies. General Abdullahi Adan Hussein who spoke to the graduating new recruits of Gorgor Commandos at Tursom, reminded them that they received the training so as to protect and defend the people and the country from the enemy.
He urged the new graduates to become part of the fight against Al-shabab militants in which he said that they commit horrific acts of atrocities against the Somali populace.
Turkish officers train new recruits of the Somali National Army (SNA) as Turkish military base is the largest military base that Turkey established overseas.
Turkey has been involved for the last ten years in rebuilding the Somali armed forces. Turkey also supports Somalia on security and strengthening the state building. Turkish officers train the most Somali army recruits that become part of Gorgor Commandos.
Each year new officers, deputy officers and new recruits of the Somali army graduate from the military base who are ready to liberate the country from terrorist groups.
The graduation was wrapped up for new Gogor Commandos, when Villa Somalia is faced with a difficulty in the expedition of the operations against Al-Shabab militants in Hirshabelle.
The Somali Federal Gov’t and the Military Command are preoccupied to thwart attacks the militant group of Al-Shabab carry out in the East of Middle Shabelle province and to continue the operations which are aimed to flush out Al-Shabab from the country.
The Militant group of Al-Shabab reinforced their presence in the East of Hirshabelle days after the second phase of operations to liberate Al-Shabab from the region commenced.
