Danab Commandos, the elite special operations force of the Somali National Army carried a planned operation in Ceel Barwaaqo which is under the administration of Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement.
The planned operation targeted Al-shabab militants who were stationed ther.
According to reports, Danab Commandos inflicted heavy casualties on Al-shabab militants including deaths and injuries.
The Commanders who led the operation said that they targeted Al-shabab militants and dismantled their positions.
They also said that they destroyed centers where Al-shabab militants planned their attacks.
They promised to continue anti-Al-Shabab operations.
Tension is reported to be running high although Al-shabab militants have not so far spoken of the operation that the Somali National Army (SNA) carried out.
