Danab Commandos conduct operations against Al-Shabab militants in Middle Shabelle province

The elite Special Operations Force in the Somali National Army (SNA) dubbed Danab Commandos conducted operations against the militant group of Al-Shabab in several settlements that are under the administration of Mahadaay district in Middle Shabelle province.

The objective of the operation was to ensure the security of Mahadaay district and nearby settlements.

Deputy Commander of the 164th Brigade, First Lieutenant, Dahir Husesin Jimale known as Kabayare was leading the operation.

Danab Commandos particularly carried out the operations in the villages of Cadalow, Buurfuule, and Buurane which are under the administration of Mahadaay district in Middle Shabelle province.

No casualties were reported as far as the operations are concerned.

The deputy commander of the 164th Brigade of Danab Commandos, first Lieutenant, Dahir Jimale Hussein Kabayare who spoke to the local residents in the villages where operations were carried out, has requested from them to work closely with security forces in order to prevent acts of insecurity and the threat posed by Al-Shabab militants.

The operations came at a time when the militant group of Al-shabab are in control of many settlements in Shabelle province.

It is noteworthy that the Somali Federal Gov’t is planning to liberate these areas from Al-Shabab militants.
