22nd batch of Dervish Somali Police Force Completes a training in Djibouti

A highly organized ceremony was held in Djibouti which marked the graduation of the 22nd batch of Somali Police officers who completed a training in Djibouti.

The ceremony indicated the enhanced security cooperation in the region and the support of the international community in rebuilding the robust security agencies in Somalia.

The ceremony saw the attendance of senior officials from Somalia, Djibouti and Italy who confirmed the importance of regional cooperation and the int’l community so as to strengthen peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.

Djibouti Police Commissioner, General Abdirahman Ali Kahin, warmly welcomed Djibouti Interior Minister, Said Nouh Hussein, top brass Djibouti police officers and representatives from Italy who are based in Djibouti.

The Deputy Somali Police Commissioner, General Osman Abdilahi Mohamed, who spoke at the passing out ceremony expressed deep thanks and appreciations to the government of Djibouti and Italy for the constant support and that they will continue the support which is aimed to rebuild and upgrade the quality of Somali police force.

He said: “Today is a great and joyful day. I send a felicitation to the new police officers who are part of the 22nd batch, who completed the training, and joined the police force.”

The 22nd batch is part of the Somali Dervish police force who received a special training which focused on the security skills, ethics, and the management of emergency situations.

The training is part of the ongoing efforts which are aimed to upgrade the quality of the internal powers of Somalia in order to fully takeover the security responsibility.

Italian representative for MINITI operation who inspected the training, delivered a speech at the ceremony, and confirmed their commitment to support the development of security agencies in Somalia.

The ceremony marked the constant efforts which are aimed to rebuild the Somali police force who are skilled, professional and deal with security challenges in the country.

The training enhanced the brotherhood ties between Djibouti and Somalia.
