The UK gov’t condemned with the strongest possible terms when it comes to the powerful improvised explosive device (IED) which was remotely detonated near Ceel-Gaabta, targeting Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s convoy.
The explosion claimed the lifes of security forces, journalists and the citizens.
According to a statement released by UK Embassy in Mogadishu, it conveyed its sincere condolences to the families that lost loved ones in the attack.
The statement went on to say that the UK gov’t stands with the government and the people of Somalia who are engaged in an ongoing battle with the terrorist organizations.
The UK Gov’t pledged to continue to provide assistance to the Somali government in the areas of security, development in order to achieve lasting peace and stability.
