U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) in conjunction with the Somali Federal Gov’t jointly conducted an airstrike targeting ISIS hideout in Golis mountain in Bari region.
Initial reports about the operation which occurred last night confirmed the killing of several ISIS members.
There are no casualties on civilians as far as the airstrikes are concerned.
It is reported that the assessment of the extent of the damage caused by the airstrikes have not yet been issued.
The airstrikes were conducted in order to support the ground assault carried out by Puntland Dervish Forces in Al-Miskaad Mountain range.
The Somali Gov’t with the supports of its friends, is committed to continue anti-terrorism operations which are aimed at eliminating ISIS and Al-shabab which pose a threat to the national security of Somalia.
