The Somali Federal Government has confirmed the killing of 30 Al-Shabab fighters in the Lower Jubba Region.

Reports from the Lower Jubba region indicate that there is high tension in the Kudhaa settlement, where Al-Shabab has suffered heavy damage. The Somali Federal Government has released a press statement stating that operations are currently underway, led by the Danab Commandos and Jubaland security forces. They are actively pursuing Al-Shabab leader Fuad Shangole, who is reported to have sustained serious injuries in the recent fighting and airstrikes in Kudhaa. According to the Somali government, 30 Al-Shabab fighters were killed in the operations that took place last night and this morning. These fighters are said to have fled from the fighting in Kudhaa settlement in the Lower Jubba region. Additionally, allied troops have carried out a planned operation in remote settlements, resulting in the death of 4 Al-Shabab fighters, as stated by an official statement from the Somali government. These operations are part of ongoing efforts to ensure security and eliminate any remaining Al-Shabab presence, in order to prevent them from launching further attacks.
