The President of Somaliland and his accompanying delegation have safely returned home after concluding their visit to Davos.

 HARGEISA–The incumbent Somaliland President, H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi, and his accompanying delegation safely arrived back in the country on Saturday after wrapping up a historic working visit to Davos, Switzerland. The President attended the annual World Economic Forum (WEF), which brings together world leaders, prominent politicians, diplomats, and business people from around the globe. During his stay in Davos, he presented Somaliland’s case to the forum, where world leaders and investors were in attendance. He highlighted Somaliland’s legal, political, and historical right to be recognized as an independent sovereign state and a part of the international community. In his speech, the incumbent Somaliland President explained the achievements the country has made over the past 34 years, including peace, stability, democracy, good governance, and upholding the rule of law. He reiterated that Somaliland is a deserving member of the international community and emphasized the investment opportunities in the country, particularly in agriculture, livestock trade, energy and minerals, untapped natural resources, and regional trade connections. He also emphasized that Somaliland is a reliable partner and open to lasting business relationships with the rest of the world. During his stay in Davos, the Somaliland Head of State held fruitful discussions with leaders and heads of international organizations, which elevated Somaliland’s integrity and its appearance on the international stage. He clarified to the world that Somaliland is not seeking aid, but rather recognition, respect, and cooperation based on mutual interests, peace, and development. He also reaffirmed Somaliland’s commitment to playing a crucial role in the stability, trade, and security of the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
