Colonel Maslax Maxamuud Maxamed, Commander of the 77th Brigade of the National Presidential Guard, has paid a working visit to the Masagawaa area in the Galgaduud region.
A unit from the 77th Brigade—specifically the 86th “Aar” Battalion—is stationed in this area, which also hosts bases for the “Macawiisley” community defense forces.
A statement issued this Tuesday by the 77th Brigade Command indicated that the Commander visited Masagawaa to inspect the troops’ condition and the operations they are conducting in the area.
“The Commander visited, one by one, the positions and locations held by the 77th Brigade in the town of Masagawaa and its surrounding areas, assessing the status of the troops and the smooth execution of their duties,” the statement read.
The statement further noted, “Colonel Maslax Maxamuud Maxamed also received briefings from the officers and commanders of the 77th Brigade units operating in the area; they reported on the security situation, military operations, and the services provided to the communities living in the eastern parts of the Galgaduud region.”
Preparations are underway in Masagawaa for the concurrent elections scheduled to take place in the Galmudug Regional State on the 30th of this month.
In these Galmudug elections, the public will elect Members of Parliament and members of the local councils for Galmudug’s districts.
