Federal Government of Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Ali Mohamed Omar known as Ali Bal’ad held a meeting on Wednesday with a high-level delegation from United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) led by the Acting Head of UNTMIS, Mr. Raisedon Zenenga.
The meeting was also attended by Head of UNTMIS political and Mediation Team, Mr. Vikram Parekh.
The meeting focused on the UNTMIS transition process and the continuation of coordination and cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Nations.
The State Minister stated that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to ensuring the transition is Somali-led, and Somali-owned, and that the international support remains aligned with the priorities and national obligations of Somalia.
Both sides agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation to support Somalia’s stability, and the development of government institutions.
