The Somali Federal Gov’t is preoccupied with a plan and there is a mobilization which are aimed to liberate Al-Shabab from Adan Yabaal district in Middle Shabelle province.
This was disclosed by the State Minister for Defense, Hon. Omar Ali Abdi who participated yesterday the national consultative meeting which is currently underway in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital. He gave a security report to the attendees and the achievements so far made by the brave Somali National Army (SNA) in regard to the recent operations against Al-shabab that took place in the country.
He said: “My role at the National Consultative Meeting is to provide you with a report on the defense of the country. I express deep thanks and appreciations to the leaders who are in attendance of the meeting for listening to us.”
He confirmed that the Somali National Army (SNA) will launch major offensive against Al-Shabab that is in control of Adan Yabaal district. He further stated that the Somali National Army (SNA) are currently stationed in the outskirts of Adan Yabaal district and further revealed that there is a movement of troops there.
He said: “ We are stationed in the vicinity of Adan Yabaal district. We will capture the district in a short time.” Airstrikes are part of the ongoing operations which target the militant group of Al-Shabab in which heavy casualties were inflicted on Al-Shabab fighters and leaders.
There is a movement of troops which is currently underway in Middle Shabelle province, and the Somali Federal Gov’t promised to continue the anti-Al-Shabab operations in the province. However, Adan Yabaal town which is currently under the control of Al-Shabab has become the main target of operations that are underway.
