The Somali Federal Gov’t in conjunction with int’l partners last night carried out an airstrike in Middle Shabelle province. The airstrike targeted Al-shabab members who were stationed in Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement. He said: “An airstrike was conducted in Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement in Middle Shabelle province. He said that information gathering is underway and that they will later release the names of Al-shabab leaders that were killed in the operation.
He said: “That all of those killed were responsible for the enemy to commit atrocities against the Somali populace. We will provide you with details and release their names. We want Al-Shabab to refrain from shedding the blood of the Somali populace. If they do not shun away from that; the brave Somali National Army (SNA) and Ma’awisley local defense forces will hold them accountable.”
Tension is running high and there is a movement in the areas where the airstrike precisely targeted. The militant group of Al-shabab have not so far spoken of the attack. Masaajid Ali Guduud was one of the last settlements that the militant group of Al-Shabab took control. The Somali Federal Gov’t is in a war with Al-Shabab, and there is a mobilization to prevent Al-Shabab’s pressure from Hirshabelle and Galmudug settlements.
