HARGEISA— The incumbent Somaliland President H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi alias Irro is reported on Friday that he will visit Saudi Arabia at the invitation from the Kingdom.
Senior cabinet members including the foreign affairs, presidency, livestock and intelligence leadership are expected to accompany the Head of State’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
The talks the president will hold with Saudi officials include trade as Somaliland is the largest exporter of livestock to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Somalia imposed on strict certification when it comes to the livestock export from Somaliland to the Gulf countries in order to strangle Somaliland’s economy.
Regional trade experts say that securing direct livestock export arrangements with Saudi Arabia would serve as a crucial indicator of the visit’s success.
