Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi has at last received the Chinese delegation in Somaliland headed up by Zhou Yuxiao, China’s ambassador in charge of affairs for Forum for “China-Africa Cooperation” (FOCAC).
The delegation arrived in Hargeisa, Somaliland’s capital on Wednesday afternoon to reinforce Chinese ambassador to Mogadishu, Qin Jian, who has been in the country since last Saturday.
Somaliland’s Deputy President, Hon. Abdirahman Sayli’i and China’s ambassador to Somalia, Qin Jian were also in attendance.
President Bihi received the Chinese diplomats with courtesy and unattached difficult greeting by the elbows necessitated by the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus.
In a press statement issued by Somaliland presidential palace stated that the two sides discussed ways to further forge and strengthen the existing relationship between China & Somaliland.
The statement further added that they agreed to continue cordial relationships based on friendship and mutual respect and cooperation on development and the economy.
The discussions were devoid of Taiwan which was the bone of contention
