Somaliland President H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro on Wednesday held a meeting with members of Hargeisa local councilors.
The objective behind the meeting which took place at the Presidential Palace was to exchange views and to expedite the huge tasks that the local councilors are faced with.
They also discussed ways to enhance the important services for the communities living in the capital Hargeisa.
Irro lauded the councilors in the capital the accomplishments that they carried out during the four years tenure in office.
He said: “I congratulate you on the excellent job that you have. The resilience and the progress in Hargeisa, Somaliland capital is a clear example of the endurance and the strong heart of the people and the country of Somaliland.”
The President told the Councilors that the motto of the current government which is dubbed “Togetherness and Action” which clearly defines the priority that the government is giving to the unity and the trust of the people of Somaliland where ever they live.
He urged the councilors to hold their normal sessions on regular basis and work together in unison.
He reminded the councilors that having different views and the political debates are the beauty of Somaliland maturity in terms of democracy.
Finally, he reiterated that Somaliland capital Hargeisa is in competition with other capitals in the region.
Therefore, the good beauty and the development of the capital Hargeisa will play a role in Somaliland’s long quest of an int’l recognition from the world.
