Somali Troops launch operations to flush out Al-Shabab fighters from the road that leaves Mabaah settlement

The Somali National Army (SNA) launched operations which are aimed to drive out Al-Shabab fighters from the road that leaves Mabaah settlement and goes to El Ali Ahmed settlement in Middle Shabelle province.

The Somali troops conducted the operations in areas between Mabaah and El Ali Ahmed settlements which lie in the border areas between Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle provinces.

Reports say that the troops left from Mabaah are carrying out the operations in conjunction with other troops that commenced to launch offensives against Al-Shabab militants that are stationed in Adan Yabaal district on May 18, 2025.

Somali military officers say that the Somali troops will flush out Al-shabaab militants in the road between Mabaah and El Ali Ahmed settlements.

Reports from the border regions say that the operations were part of troops that left from Galguduud region and is led by the Commander of the 27th Battlion and the 21st Division of the Somali National Army (SNA) lieutenant Salim Omar Ahmed.

Reports say that the troops are heading to El-Ali Ahmed settlement.

Al-Shabab fighters captured El-Ali Ahmed settlement which is under Adan Yabaal district on Feb. 25, 2025, after Somali National Army and Ma’awisley forces withdrew from the settlement.
