Reports from Hiiraan province say that the Somali National Army (SNA) backed by Ma’awisley local defense forces on Monday made rapid advances regarding the operations that they conduct in the East of Hiiraan region but the allied forces have been pushed back by Al-Shabab fighters.
The allied forces were battling Al-Shabab fighters for the past couple of days in the outskirts of Aboorey settlement, it was impossible for the Somali troops to move into the settlement.
They launched offensives against the militant group of Al-Shabab on Thursday.
Reports indicate that the Somali National Army (SNA) in conjunction with Ma’awisley forces made major advances on Saturday in the settlement. They reached near the front gate of Aboorey settlement but Al-shabab fighters forced them to retreat.
The Somali troops and local defense forces could not breach the defense lines that the militant group of Al-shabab set up in the settlement let alone to drive out the militant group of Al-Shabab from the settlement.
