The Somali National Army (SNA) in collaboration with local defense forces-Ma’awisley launched military operations in the villages surrounding Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement in Middle Shabelle province.
The Somali troops carried out the operations in order to ensure the overall security of Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement. The Somali troops dislodged Al-Shabab militants from Masaajid Ali Guud settlement yesterday in conjunction with local defense forces.
Residents told the local media that they saw heavily armed troops who poured in the villages surrounding Masaajid Ali Guduud which were under the control of Al-Shabab.
The Somali troops conducted the operations in Tawfiiq and other villages which were in the hands of the militant group of Al-Shabab.
The ministry of defense said that the operations are part of the ongoing efforts which are aimed to eradicate Al-Shabab from the country particularly the Middle Shabelle province.
Finally, the Somali Federal Gov’t reiterated that it will not cease the war against Al-Shabab until it liberates from the settlements that the militant group were stationed in the provinces in the country.
