The Incumbent Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday lays wreath at SYL Monument which is located in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu in which 15 May is designated as a day that the Somali youth launched the struggle which they emancipated Somalia from the colonial rule. During the ceremony, the president expressed deep thanks and appreciations to all Somali youngsters.
He commended the role that the youngsters played a crucial role when it comes to the development, maintaining the security, and the fight against terrorist organizations in Somalia.
During the laying wreath ceremony, the President supplicated and commemorated the 13 youngsters who founded SYL and played a lion’s share when it comes to the struggle which emancipated Somalia from the colonial rule and paved the way for the independence of Somalia.
He stated in particular the bravery, the unity and the far-sighted of the youngsters who spearheaded Somalia’s statehood.
Finally, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged the Somali populace wherever they are to strengthen unity and the protection of the statehood. He said that these were the cornerstone of the struggle of SYL youth.
