The session of Lower House of Somali Federal Parliament on Monday has failed to open due to lack of quorum after 87 Members of Parliament were in attendance.
The session could have been officially kicked off if 139 Members of Parliament were in attendance. The delay of the parliament session which was supposed to kick-off on Monday coincides after the MP’s have returned from recess in regard to Eid-Al-Adha festivities.
The MP’s were supposed to commence and debate the constitutional issues and ways to direct country’s legislature. The agendas that are before the Lower House of the parliament include the swearing in of two new Members of the Parliament.
The Second Deputy Speaker of Lower House of Parliament, Hon. Abdilahi Abshirow has called on the MP’s to attend the upcoming parliamentary session which is scheduled on Wednesday in order to debate the agendas.
