Somali Army Kills senior Al-Shabab leaders in Lower Shabelle province

Reports from Lower Shabelle Province say that the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted operations in which they killed senior Al-Shabab leaders and dismantled their bases.

The 6th Battalion, the 26th Brigade, and the 60th Division of the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted the operation which took place in Maduulow settlement in Lower Shabelle province.

Officers who led the operation confirmed that the Somali National Army killed senior Al-Shabab leaders named Hassan Biid and Abdilahi Garweyne.

The Somali National Army (SNA) dismantled their bases where they extorted money from the local residents.

The Commander of the 6th Battalion, the 26th Brigade, and the 60th Division of the Somali National Army (SNA) lieutenant Faarah Hirsi Abdulle told the state run media that they will intensify the operations which are aimed to eradicate the militant group of Al-Shabab that is based in the settlements in Lower Shabelle province.

Operations are underway in Shabelle provinces where the Somali National Army (SNA) is driving out Al-Shabab militants and destroy their bases.
