Puntland, a provincial authority in Somalia has claimed that soldiers from the defense forces defected from Somaliland and joined ranks with Puntland. The defense forces from Somaliland were stationed at Ceelbuh in the eastern Sanaag province. Initial reports say that the deserted soldiers is led by lieutenant Mustafe Said Toor. Puntland claims to have presented the soldiers in public. Somaliland government has not so far commented on this. Somaliland soldiers in eastern Sanaag were marred by number of its defense forces that have sworn allegiance to Puntland. This will put doubts on the control of Somaliland in Sanaag province.
