Security forces that are based in Beledweyne city foiled a raid that two Al-Shabab operatives were planning to conduct in Haawo-taako village in the city last night.
A Somali security forces officer announced that the security forces shot dead one of the operatives while capturing another one alive.
A statement posted in the state-run media said that the security forces in Beledweyne city thwarted a terror attack where two armed Al-Shabab operatives planned to conduct in Haawo-taako village last night.
Conversely, the Spokesman of HIiraan administration, Mr. Liibaan Omar Hassan further disclosed that the information provided by the city’s residents played a crucial role in thwarting the alleged attack.
He added, “We call upon Beledweyne local residents to continue their cooperation with security forces. Action will be taken against anyone who attempts to cause trouble in the city.
In conclusion, the security forces presented the body of an Al-Shabab operative as well as the one who is being held alive inside the city, stating that the move is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the security and deter Al-Shabab’s a’tacks.
