Somaliland President H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi alias Irro on Sunday has officially inaugurated an agency dubbed “WE INVEST” which is tasked to empower women in Somaliland and to provide financial investment.
The launching ceremony was attended by the President, members of the cabinet, and officials from the various banks that are operational in Somaliland, women and other guests.
The launching ceremony focused on the importance of concentrating and strengthening investment funds earmarked for women across Somaliland and the role it will play when it comes to Somaliland’s economic growth.
Members of Somaliland cabinet ministers, women who held public offices, intellectuals, politicians and business people who spoke at the launching ceremony have welcomed the work that the agency will do and the need to empower women and strengthen trade development.
The incumbent Somaliland President, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi alias Irro who spoke at the ceremony has said that the administration dubbed “Togetherness and Action” will recently launch Somaliland Women Development Fund which is part of the campaign promises that Wadani National Political Party pledged to the nation during the 2024 presidential polls.
He said that his administration is giving a top priority to promote women economy and provide investment.
