The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in close collaboration with international partners, carried out scheduled airstrikes in the Buq-aqable area of Hiiraan province, targeting leaders and centers used by the militant group Al-Shabab to organize its fighters. According to a statement released by NISA, three senior Al-Shabab leaders were injured in the airstrike while they were present in an area where new fighters were being organized. These leaders include Mr. Ali Hussein, responsible for attacks in central provinces, Mr. Mawlid Jiis, the Al-Shabab representative for Buulo-burde district, and Mr. Mohamed Hiiraan, the Al-Shabab representative for Jalalaqsi district. NISA stated that the troops had closely monitored the Al-Shabab leaders before precisely carrying out the airstrike. The statement also mentioned that vehicles and centers belonging to Al-Shabab were destroyed in the airstrikes. Additionally, five vehicles, including three BG vehicles, were destroyed in other airstrikes. One of these vehicles was mounted with an anti-aircraft gun 39. NISA stated that these airstrikes are part of ongoing efforts to weaken the operational capabilities of Al-Shabab and prevent further security attacks against civilians and the Somali government.
