National Consultative Meeting Delayed

The National Consultative meeting scheduled to kick off in Garowe has been postponed.

The absence of Galmudug state president Abdi kariye (qorqor) has emerged the postponement of the meeting and is in Mogadishu to further end the protracted dispute between the president of Somalia, Mohmed Abdilahi Farmajo and PM Mohmed Husein Roble. Mr. Qorqor is reported to have requested from state leaders to delay the meeting. The Federal member states of Somalia were scheduled to convene in Puntland’s administrative capital, Garowe, to further hold discussions about the speeding up of upcoming elections and to exhange views on the security of the country after row broke out between the president and the PM. The mediation team which consist of the regional leaders of Galmudug and Southwest have failed to bring an end to the political wrangle between the top leaders of Somalia.
