Addis Ababa, July 16, 2019 (FBC) – The Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Jigjiga University signed an agreement to cooperate in project that helps to improve livestock farm productivity in Somali regional state.
The agreement was signed today by Dr.-Ing Getahun Mekuria, Minister Innovation and Technolog, and Mustefe Mohamed Omar, Chief Administrator of the Somali regional state.
The livestock transformation project will mainly focus on enhancing dairy product through breed, feed and health service improvement.
According to the agreement, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology is responsible for the supply of new technologies and Jigjiga University for breeding dairy cattle.
Initially, the project will be implemented in three selected woredas of the regional state.
