The Minister of Internal Security for the Jubaland State, Gen. Yusuf Hussein Osman (Dhuumaal), participated in a police-community partnership program in the Gobweyn area, aimed at strengthening the relationship and cooperation between security forces and the local community.
The event was attended by officers from the Jubbaland Police Force, the Director General of the Ministry of Internal Security, civil society organizations, and various segments of the Gobweyn community.
During the program, the Jubbaland Minister of Internal Security addressed the police officers and community members participating in the workshop, emphasizing the importance of close cooperation between security forces and the public.
Gen. Yusuf Hussein Osman stated that security and safety are not responsibilities limited solely to the security forces but require the active participation and ongoing cooperation of the community.
The Minister urged the community to maintain close ties with security forces and to share information regarding security threats, in order to prevent security incidents in the area. The Police-Community Partnership program also addressed ways to build trust between the public and the police force by fostering interaction and ensuring the community gains a better understanding of the police’s work and responsibilities.
Furthermore, the police force plays a vital role in protecting public safety, preventing crime, and maintaining law and order. Consequently, community cooperation is crucial for obtaining information that helps the police effectively counter security threats.
