Hirshabelle regional President Ali Abdilahi Hussein alias Ali Guudlaawe yesterday paid an inspection tour to a hospital in Mogadishu where he visited soldiers of the Somali National Army (SNA) and local Ma’awisley forces who were wounded in the fighting that occurred in Wargaadhi settlement in Middle Shabelle province.
The Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers who were wounded were ferried to Mogadishu and are currently receiving medical treatments in Erdogan Hospital which was previously known as Digfeer in Hodan village.
There are soldiers who were also wounded in the fighting and were hospitalized at the Somali National Army (SNA) Hospital where they are recuperating.
The director of Erdogan Hospital, Mohamed Hussein Sharif briefed the president on the conditions of the injured Ma’awisley soldiers.
The President pledged to sacrifice what so ever to save the Ma’awisley soldiers who were involved in the ongoing war against Al-Shabab militants.
He said that those who are in critical conditions will be taken to abroad for receiving further medical attentions.
He said: “We will do everything we can to save the local Ma’awisley soldiers who are engaged in the war against the militant group of Al-Shabab. Those who are injured and are in a critical condition, we will take them overseas to receive medical attention.”
A statement from the office of Hirshabelle Presidency, said that they will not be disappointed with the war against Al-Shabab militants.
Al-Shabab militants yesterday launched a pre-dawn attack on Wargaadhi settlement which is 70 km from Adale district. The militants moved into Wargaadhi but lost the control of the settlement after Somali National Army (SNA) and Local Ma’awisley forces launched counterattack.
War planes carried out airstrikes targeted Al-Shabab militants while the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted ground assaults against the militant group.
