The Somali National Army, specifically the Gorgor Commandos, carried out a planned operation in the area between the city of Baidoa and the Deynuunay locality in the Bay region.
The operation, which took place specifically in the Hinshiloole area, targeted Al-Shabaab militants who were reportedly gathering there.
During the operation, the forces launched an attack on the location where the militants were positioned. Officers leading the operation confirmed that two members of the group were killed, while another was captured alive.
The operation was jointly executed by units of the Gorgor Commandos—specifically the 171st and 175th Companies of the 17th Battalion, 1st Division of the Somali National Army. These forces are conducting planned operations in areas of the Bay region targeting members of the Al-Shabaab group.
