Sonja Nientiet is a nurse by professional who is German by nationality and was kidnapped from Mogadishu while working for Int’l Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). She has recently appeared in video clip. Kanal Youtube was just created by a man named Liban Osman and has been widely viewed.
She has appealed to the German gov’t to increase its efforts to secure her release. She has warned that her life is in danger if she remains in captivity. Sonja was kidnapped from Mogadishu on the 2nd of May, 2018. There was a lot of worry whether she was alive or dead. It is now confirmed that she is alive after having appeared from the video clip. She said that she is in a difficult situation. Previous reports indicated that those who abducted her were part of ICRC bodyguards. They have demanded a ransom which is worth millions of dollars according to reports. The German gov’t particularly Germany’s foreign intelligence agency (BND), has been conducting investigations in order to find information leading to her whereabouts.
