The armed assailants shot dead the former Chief of the bodyguards of the ex-Vice President of Galmudug State.
The former Chief, Sade Dahir Anod was onboard on a vehicle with other people after the armed assailants targeted him in an area that is not far away from Elasha settlement.
The attack resulted the death of Sade Dahir Anod and a person on board of the vehicle sustained serious injuries.
The wounded person was taken to Abud Wak hospital to get further medical treatment.

Initial reports say that attack was conducted in a revenge killing which was happening in recent months in the settlement in Galmudug state particularly in areas of Abud Wak and Balanbale.
The situation deteriorated after another revenge killing took place within minutes which saw the death of Bashir Abdikadir Ali.
The killing of Bashir was seen as a retaliation which worsened the situation in the region and caused fear that fighting will erupt based on revenge killings.
Galmudug regional authorities condemned the killings with the strongest possible terms.
The authority further said that the security forces started investigations and operations which were aimed to nab the perpetrators of the attack.
Efforts were underway to mediate the clans in order to prevent further revenge killings to happen.
Galmudug region faced insecurity for the past couple of months including Al-Shabab attacks and fightings based on retaliatory killings which were a constraint to the peace efforts underway in Galmudug.
The killing of Sade Dahir Anod who held a senior security post within Galmudug state caused anguish among officials.
This increased the anxiety that armed clan militia will infiltrate into the security of the region.
