Danab Commandos Kill senior Al-Shabab leader, bodyguards in a planned operation in Bay region

The elite Special Operations force in the Somali National Army (SNA) dubbed Danab Commandos conducted a planned operation in Durduro settlement in Buurhakabo district in Bay region in South West of Somalia.

During the operation, the elite Special Operations force dubbed Danab Commandos killed senior Al-Shabab leader named Ahmed Mohamed, but he was widely known within Al-Shabab circles as Masud as reported by the state-run media. They also killed his bodyguards during the operation.

The corpse of Al-Shabab leader was displayed in order the residents to see with their naked eyes the result of the operations which are aimed to restore the security.

As reported by the security officers, Ahmed was responsible for producing and planting landmine explosions in the roads which mostly target the Somali security forces and the Somali populace.

The operation was part of the constant efforts of the Somali Federal Gov’t and Danab Commandos which engage a war with the militant group of Al-shabab in order to restore peace and maintain the overall stability in the country.
