The elite special operations force, Danab Commandos conducted a planned operation in which several Al-shabab leaders were killed.
The operation was conducted in Gaalware settlement that lies 4 km East of Sabiid and Anoole settlement in Lower Shabelle province.
A press statement issued by the ministry of information of Somali Federal Gov’t said that Danab Commandos launched an attack on Al-Shabab positions and killed 25 fighters including three senior Al-Shabab leaders.
The statement went on to say that Danab Commandos confiscated 6 PKM guns, 2 RPG hand grenades, and 17 AK-47 guns.
The Commanders who led the operation in which heavy casualties were inflicted on Al-shabab, pledged to continue this kind of operations in which they will target the militant group of Al-shabab.
The operation came at a time when Ma’awisley forces from Hawadle clan are battling Al-Shabab insurgents in between El-Hareeri settlement and Adan Yabaal district in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle provinces.
