The 162nd Battalion of the Danab Commando Brigade, in coordination with Jubaland forces, conducted a planned operation in the Lagta Welmaarow and Lagta Qunbi areas of the Lower Juba region.
During the operation, the forces uncovered and destroyed landmines planted by Al-Shabaab in those areas, which posed a threat to both civilians and the military. Additionally, the forces destroyed an Al-Shabaab base in the area, eliminating the group’s presence and capabilities there.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure security and eradicate Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Juba region.
