The former Commander of the Somali Correctional Corps, Brigadier General Mahad Abdirahman Adan—known as Commander Shub—has provided new details regarding the recent attack on his home in the Dolow district of the Gedo region.
Commander Shub stated that the attack on his residence was carried out by an F-16 fighter jet; he vehemently rejected claims made by the administration of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud—whose constitutional term has expired—alleging that the explosion was caused by explosive devices being manufactured inside the house.
Commander Shub further stated that the driver who used to drive his vehicle was behind the airstrike on Dolow, alleging that the driver had guided the attack.
He maintained that he had no knowledge of manufacturing explosives, while accusing the Hassan Sheikh administration—whose mandate has lapsed—of having ties to individuals he claimed were previously involved in making explosives.
Meanwhile, Commander Shub spoke harshly about the fighting and airstrikes that occurred in the city of Baidoa, directing strong criticism at the administration of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, whose constitutional term in office has ended.
Commander Shub’s remarks come amidst ongoing, conflicting allegations regarding who was responsible for the airstrike that targeted his home in the Dolow district.
Hassan Sheikh’s government—whose mandate has expired—denied involvement in the attack, while the Southwest administration and other parties insist that the house was directly targeted.
